Trafford Sportsmen’s Club

We will be holding a Hunter’s Safety Course on August 20th & 21st. You must register online at the PA Game Commission website. Register Here or view their calender here.

The 4H Club will be using the club for practice on the 1st and last Thursday of each month thru out the summer in preparation for their competition. Please be respectful of their time.

On February 6th the County League and Gander Mtn will be hosting an Outdoors Show at Twin Lakes park for youths and their family. Many exhibites, fishing rod building, DCNR tree identification, kayak/canoeing, Turkey Federation, Trappers of Pa, etc. 2PM there will be prize raffle for youth and mentored hunters, grand prize is a 50cal muzzle loader.

• Beginning on January 12th, the archers will meet Tuesday nights at the Indoor Range around 7:30PM. Come join us for a little archery poker!
• Youth PTARC archery classes will begin on Tuesdays, January 26, from 6pm to 7:30, registrations are thru PTARC.

• Andy and Bill tied for 1st place at our annual Club Shoot that was held Oct 25th. They had perfect scores!
• The deck on #2 has been finished, lighting on #3 still needs some work
• 4H is coming back this summer
• University of Pittsburgh is tentative, they have 12 signed up.

12 to 18 year old youths interested in learning to shoot trap should contact Tony Morell, 724-327-7942, . Targets and ammo will be provided free of charge.

Trafford Sportsmen Club assisted Turtle Creek Watershed and Trafford Recreation Organizations at their anual youth fish day. There were 105 registered youths participating in the fish-for-fun and the archery training. Prizes were awarded. Thanks goes out to the members who volunteered their time in promoting outdoor sports to the kids.

The 4H club youths have had strong participation in preparing the County Fair shoots that they attend. Special thanks for the trap and indoor pistol members that make this possible.

TSC will be holding Hunter’s Safety Courses:
We will hold a PA Hunters Safety classes on:

• June 19th 6pm-9pm & 20th 8:30am-5pm
• August 21st 6pm-9pm & 22nd 8:30am-5pm

Classes will be held at the Level Green Firehall on Route 130.
Be sure to register before coming at the Game Commissions web site.

Trafford Sportsmen will sponsor two children of members to go to the annual summer County League Conservation School the week of July 25th-31st. Contact John Kozubal, 724-744-7344, for more details. This class has been given high praise by its graduates. Take advantage of this member benefit if you have children in the 13-15 age group.
